My name is Mercede and I am a world traveler. To answer the question that everyone asks me first, no I am not a millionaire or an heiress to a fortune, in fact I was a server/bartender that committed herself to a dream of travel. For most, this seems like an unattainable goal but I’m living proof this is in fact possible and I am here to help you get there, wherever that may be. In order to understand how I made this dream a reality, I would like to tell you my story…
In my early 20’s I realized my life goal was to travel the world. This was a rambling of a young dreamer until I made it a reality. I worked hard, saved every penny I could, and even sacrificed some good times with friends. Commitment is the one word I can use to describe the times leading up to my first ever backpacking adventure. I spent around four years saving up, doing research, and planning what would end up being an adventure of a lifetime as well as a beginning to a forever way of life. My plans were to backpack for a year and a half all around the world. Once departure day came about, I was anxious and nervous but excited at the same time. That being said, the start was a little overwhelming due to the experience being so different and new but with a little time everything came easily. I ended up being gone for a year and seven months and visiting more than 40 countries! I experienced ruins, oceans, wanders of the world, jungles, deserts, different cultures, yummy and not so yummy food, volcanoes, wetlands, the amazon, the Sahara, temples, churches, museums, and so much more! This experience was truly life changing and the best thing I have ever done.
Following my big trip, I realized I never wanted to stop traveling and exploring. Since my return, I have taken several other trips overseas to new places and some to visit people I met along the way from all over the world. I’m a professional traveler at this point with first hand experiences and skills to do such on a tight budget. When I left to travel I had no guide, no tours, only myself and my research. Now I’m bringing all my knowledge to those of you who have the same dream as me. Whether you want to travel with family like my mother and I did for a year, or travel with friends like I did for 5 months, or alone like I primarily do, I can help with your planning and bookings from start to finish. I want everyone that has the dream of travel to make it a reality and I want to be the one the gets you there for cheaper, easier, on your time, and focused on your interests.
